Contents

[edit] Function

BSX-Flags are a Bethesda-specific addition to the NI-Format allowing for a quick presorting of Meshes by flagging them as static, havoked, light source etc.

[edit] Parameter

There's just a single, numeric parameter to BSX-Flags, which can be selected from a drop-down list. many possible values are undecoded, but the ones known are shown with a short descriptive text.

[edit] Parent Blocks

BSX-Flags are attached as Extra Data to NiNodes, so they are grayed out in the library menu if no NiNode is selected.

[edit] Child Blocks

BSX-Flags can't have child blocks

[edit] Format versions and Conversion

BSX-Flags are introduced with NIF 20.0.0.5 (Oblivion). When converting files to Morrowind Format (4.0.0.2), BSX-Flags are simply deleted.

When converting from Morrowind to Oblivion, and there is a RootCollisionNode which is converted to Havok, NIBLE will insert a BSX-Flag with the value "2:Static" to the file.
